An international, technology-driven insurance corporation is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to grow its commercial insurance broking business in Singapore.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role combining new business development, major corporate account management and insurance placement. You will independently manage corporate clients across commercial insurance lines, develop new and organic business opportunities, and work closely with insurers to negotiate competitive coverage, terms and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business and grow existing corporate accounts to achieve revenue targets.
- Independently manage and service major corporate insurance clients.
- Understand clients’ risk and insurance requirements and recommend appropriate coverage.
- Source quotations and negotiate premiums, terms and conditions with insurers.
- Manage placements and post-sales documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Review existing coverage and advise clients on renewal and contractual insurance requirements.
- Drive timely renewals and maintain strong client retention.
- Prepare proposals, presentations and insurance comparisons for prospects and existing clients.
- Build productive relationships with insurers to deliver competitive client solutions.
- Monitor premium payment status and follow up on timely settlement.
- Support team members on account servicing and broking matters where required.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant commercial insurance experience, preferably within insurance broking.
- Experience managing corporate accounts across commercial insurance classes.
- Proven ability to develop new business and grow existing client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of commercial insurance placement, renewals and insurer negotiations.
- Certificate in General Insurance (BCP, PGI, CGI) required.
- Strong client servicing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commercially driven, independent and results-oriented.
- Good attention to detail and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
- Good written and spoken English; spoken Mandarin would be advantageous.
