A well-established international insurance group is looking to appoint a Marine Underwriter to support its P&I and Hull portfolio in Japan. This role offers exposure to technically complex risks, close client interaction, and collaboration with a global underwriting platform.
This position is based in Tokyo or Imabari.
Key Responsibilities:

Underwrite P&I and Hull risks across the Japanese market in line with underwriting guidelines

Evaluate risk profiles, structure renewals, and support bespoke risk solutions

Develop and maintain long-term relationships with brokers and clients

Monitor portfolio performance and contribute insights to regional and global teams

Participate in domestic and regional travel as required for client engagement
Key Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in marine insurance (underwriting, broking, or claims)
- Practical exposure to P&I and/or Hull business
- Strong communication and relationship-management capabilities
- Fluency in both Japanese and English
