Middle Office Manager – Trading / Product Control (Singapore)

A leading global, technology-driven trading firm and market maker is seeking an experienced Middle Office Manager for its Singapore office.

The position has a strong Product Control, P&L, valuation and trading risk focus, working closely with traders across multiple asset classes. You will take ownership of daily P&L and trading balance sheet controls, oversee valuation and position reconciliations, and drive technology and automation initiatives within the function.

The role offers exposure to a high-performance global trading environment with an established international platform and a growing presence in Asia Pacific.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own daily P&L reporting through validation of trading positions, valuations and balance sheet activities.
  • Reconcile trades and positions against clearers and brokers, investigating and resolving breaks.
  • Drive valuation controls and identify emerging product, market and valuation risks.
  • Ensure appropriate valuation and accounting treatment across financial instruments.
  • Partner with traders on valuation verification for new products and business activities.
  • Develop a strong understanding of desk trading strategies and their impact on P&L and risk.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for traders and key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive technology, data and automation initiatives across Product Control.
  • Collaborate with technology and other control functions to improve processes and scalability.
  • Lead a small team within a fast-paced, high-performance trading environment.

Key Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Product Control, with additional experience in Risk, Financial Control or other in a trading firm and/or bank.
  • Additional exposure to Risk, Financial Control or related trading functions would be valuable.
  • Strong knowledge across financial asset classes, particularly derivatives including equity/index options, futures, forwards and warrants.
  • Good understanding of valuation, risk management and accounting for exchange-traded and OTC instruments.
  • Strong analytical and technical capabilities using Excel, VBA, BI tools, SQL and/or Python.
  • Singapore Chartered Accountant or equivalent international accounting qualification.
