Team Leader, Private Equity Fund Accounting (Mumbai, India)

A leading global alternative investment services platform is seeking an experienced Private Equity Fund Accounting professional to join its Mumbai office as a Team Leader / Assistant Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Fund Accounting & Client Delivery

  • Serve as the primary reviewer and quality control lead for all fund accounting deliverables produced by the team
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of client deliverables in accordance with internal quality standards
  • Review NAV calculations, capital activity, and fund accounting records
  • Review calculations and allocations relating to management fees, carried interest, incentive fees, and other fund-level transactions
  • Prepare and review investor reporting packages, including capital calls, distributions, investor notices, and capital account statements
  • Review financial statements and supporting schedules for private equity fund structures
  • Act as a key escalation point for technical accounting and operational matters

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and relationship managers
  • Participate in client calls, review meetings, and operational discussions
  • Proactively manage client expectations and service delivery timelines
  • Drive high levels of client satisfaction through quality execution and responsive communication
  • Support ongoing improvement of service delivery standards

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop fund accounting professionals within the team
  • Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practices across teams
  • Support performance management, goal setting, and professional development initiatives
  • Encourage employee engagement and retention through coaching and leadership support
  • Help build future leadership capability within the team

Key Requirements

  • MBA (Finance), CA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification
  • At least 6+ years of experience in Fund Accounting, preferably with Private Equity fund exposure
  • Good understanding of private equity fund structures, investor reporting, and fund accounting processes
  • Experience reviewing financial statements, capital calls, distributions, and fund performance reporting
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
